Position Summary
The Quality Control Analyst is responsible for conducting detailed quality control reviews to ensure firm-wide compliance with regulatory requirements, investor guidelines, and internal policies and procedures. The role provides oversight into emerging risks and issues through analysis of data and communication with management, helping to maintain the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of mortgage servicing operations.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
- Conduct quality control reviews to assess compliance with regulatory and investor requirements
- Analyze statistical data against product and service specifications to determine quality and reliability of outputs
- Research loan documents and information across internal and external systems
- Review exception reports to identify trends, risks, and areas for improvement
- Recommend adjustments to sampling methods or review criteria based on findings
- Document and communicate findings clearly to management and relevant stakeholders
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process gaps and opportunities
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and high quality orientation
- Knowledge of mortgage products, documentation, and servicing processes
- Strong analytical, organizational, and prioritization skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines
- Excellent written, verbal, and electronic communication skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and follow direction
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Minimum Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience
- Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and electronic)
- Ability to read, interpret, and retain detailed information
- Knowledge of residential mortgage servicing or origination processes (preferred but not required)
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills or higher
