PV Designer

Job Summary:

A PV Designer is responsible for designing solar photovoltaic systems in CAD. These systems convert sunlight into electricity, making them an essential part of renewable energy projects. The PV Designer will coordinate with sales, installation, and project management teams.

Key Duties:

• Create residential solar electric systems in CAD based on templates we have created.
• Ensure all designs meet national/state/local codes and customer-defined requirements.
• Identify, prioritize, and schedule design initiatives around your own workload.
• Make equipment determinations based on cost, reliability and jurisdictional requirements
• Work with sales, project management and installation teams to ensure clients’ needs and internal deadlines are met
• Provide technical input in development of site permitting and interconnection requirements.
• Meet performance targets.
• Provide technical support to field staff when needed.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

• Experience in the PV Design field or similar work experience within CAD
• Proficient with Microsoft software applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and CRM software
• Proficient in AutoCAD (mandatory), PvWatts, PvSyst, and Eagleview (not required but a plus)
• Exceptional organizational skills, detail-oriented, efficient, and reliable.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Team player, ability to recognize how individual actions affect the team as a whole.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, flexible and adaptable to changes to planned tasks or schedule.
