Job Summary:
The Private Sector Engagement (PSE) Specialist supports the PSE strategy by analyzing business models, providing technical assistance, and strengthening private sector networks through coordination and information sharing. The Specialist collaborates with stakeholders, including the Private Sector Uptake Coordinator, the Private Sector Finance Advisor, and clean cooking companies, to disseminate market information, secure partnerships, and implement consumer financing models. Additionally, the PSE Specialist oversees technical aspects for private sector grantees in the clean cooking sector.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support PSE Strategy Development and Implementation
- Analyze business models and provide technical assistance.
- Strengthen networks through coordination and information sharing.
- Collaboration and Coordination
- Work with the Private Sector Uptake Coordinator to disseminate market information.
- Coordinate with the Private Sector Finance Advisor and clean cooking companies to secure partnerships and investments.
- Implement consumer financing models.
- Technical Oversight
- Oversee private sector grantees in the clean cooking sector.
- Ensure compliance with project objectives.
- Information Dissemination and Network Strengthening
- Facilitate information sharing among private sector partners.
- Enhance coordination mechanisms.
- Partnership and Investment Opportunities
- Identify and secure partnerships and investments in the clean cooking sector.
Qualifications and Competencies:
• Bachelor’s or higher in Business Administration or related subject
• Knowledge of renewable energy sector in Africa (particularly clean cooking)
• 3+ years of private sector experience supporting clean energy development.
• 3+ years of experience providing business development assistance and/or training.
• Experience in identifying and leveraging private sector investment.
• Grants management experience preferred.
• Previous experience of delivery of Technical Assistance.
• Demonstrated experience in report writing.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to implement proposed solutions.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy.
